It is important that you understand the characteristics of clay as well as get a handle on the techniques required to successfully create clay objects. Slumping, humping, slabbing, coiling and extruding will be used. It is as fun as it sounds.

Beginner’s Wheel Throwing

Time Saturday Morning 9-11

Learn the Basic 6 steps to throwing. you are guaranteed to get dirty and have fun, with the hope that you may also throw something worth keeping.

Advanced Pottery Classes

Cost $10.00 an hour plus clay needed for projects. Clay is $25 for a 25lb. bag and this price includes glaze and firings (2).

Students who have some clay experience or knowledge.

Class will meet for the time needed to complete your project. This is the same as open studio, except we will have scheduled tim so that I may assist you in all aspects of your project.

Open Studio

Anyone who needs space to work on a project but does not need any Assistance.

Cost $10.00 a day or $100 month plus clay at $25 a 25 lb. bag which includes 2 glazes and firings.

You will be provided with space to create, work and store you project (within limits). You will have access to all the equipment; books and knowledge needed to complete you project. There is a need to make sure that studio is open before you show up (simple text will do).

Inside the box (not available yet)

Duration  Class will meet for 2 hrs. first night and 1 hr next two classes/3 consecutive weeks

Instructor: Thor McNeil

We will creat a clay box for a variety of uses. Spaghetti holder, tissue cover, lamp, vase and the list is endless. On the first night we will cut out our templates, slab out some clay and build the box. the following week we will design and decorate our box and prepare it for the fire. The third week will be for glazing the box.

Game Boards (Future Class)

Cost $100.00

Duration 2 hrs. one night a week/4 consecutive weeks

Instructor: Thor McNeil

Chess, Checkers, tic-tac-toe, backgammon, othello and more. We will create a game board and pieces that does not require a "joy stick" to play. The board will be created in teh first class and the pieces in the 2nd. We will glaze everything in the 3rd class and then assemble in the 4th. All materials are included.
